Around the stadium

Checked at the source
There is no bar strip at the stadium on Busch Campus. Downtown New Brunswick, across the Raritan, has the bars on Easton Avenue and George Street, and a free shuttle runs from Albany and George Streets to the stadium.

Getting in from the airport

From a specialist guide
EWR Newark Liberty. Trains on the Northeast Corridor link the Newark Airport station with New Brunswick station.

Getting to the stadium

Checked at the source
Free downtown shuttle to South Entrance on River Road, Piscataway. NJ Transit train. New Brunswick station, then the free shuttle. Jersey Mike's Arena shuttle to Top of the Blue Lot. Busch Campus courtesy shuttle to Athletes Glen.

Tailgating

Checked at the source
Stadium lots open 5 hours before kickoff and close at dusk after day games, 2 hours after night games. Fans not going to the game must leave the lots at kickoff. Tailgate in a small area around your car. Don't block aisles or other spaces. Groups parking together must arrive together with matching passes. Tents up to 10 x 10 feet. Grills are fine, but dump charcoal in the yellow barrels. No campfires and no open flames under the solar panels. Kegs and beer balls are banned. University rules and state alcohol laws are enforced. RVs, buses and oversized vehicles park only at Jersey Mike's Arena, $100 a game, first come first served, with a free shuttle to the stadium. The team arrives 2 hours 15 minutes before kickoff at the Birthplace of College Football statue outside the North Gate.

Getting in

Checked at the source
  • Bag policy: Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags about 12 x 6 x 12 inches, a one-gallon clear bag, or a clutch about the size of a hand. Lockers in a truck at Athletes Glen and outside the South Gate, $12, card only.
  • Tickets and cashless: Mobile tickets only, no print-at-home. The stadium is cashless, with cash-to-card kiosks behind sections 104 and 123.

After the final whistle

Checked at the source
The downtown New Brunswick shuttle runs for 2.5 hours after the game, and the Jersey Mike's Arena shuttle for an hour. Drivers follow set postgame routes: Green Lot exits right onto River Road, and the Green and Scarlet Lots get two outbound lanes through Hoes Lane.

One thing to avoid

From a specialist guide
Don't bring a print-at-home ticket. Rutgers only takes mobile tickets, and cash doesn't work inside the stadium.
