Tailgating

Checked at the source
For Saturday games every donor and public lot opens at 7 AM and you can stay until 7 AM Sunday. For the Friday night game, Lots 1 to 5 open at noon and all other lots at 3 PM, and earlier cars must leave by 2:10 PM. Tailgating is allowed in the designated game-day lots, in the space right behind your car. Lots near the stadium belong to Hokie Club pass holders, and Lots 1 to 5 have a painted line marking the edge of each tailgate. Visitors can buy single-game passes for the public lots: Perry Street Garage, Data & Decision Science, Lower Stanger and Squires. Put tents up only after lots open and take them down by noon the next day. Propane and charcoal grills are fine away from tents; open fires and fire pits are banned. Generators must be silent type, 2,500 watts or less and 20 feet from tents. No throwing footballs or frisbees, no amplified sound or DJs, no blocking roads or sidewalks, and no underage drinking. Corporate tailgates are not allowed. Public RVs park in Lot 65, the Student Remote Lot on Smoot Drive in the Corporate Research Center, from 1 PM Friday to 5 PM Sunday for Saturday games. Passes are first come, first served through the Virginia Tech/Montgomery Executive Airport. The Inn at Virginia Tech also takes RV reservations. Free fan zone on the turf practice field across Beamer Way from the stadium's west side, with live music, food trucks and drink tents. It opens 3.5 hours before Saturday kickoffs and runs until 45 minutes before. REVELxp sells full-service tailgates: (540) 769-7011.

After the final whistle

Checked at the source
