  • Downtown Iowa City. Free Cambus from the Schaeffer Hall stop on the Pentacrest to the VA Loop by the stadium. Hotels, bars and restaurants around the Pentacrest, with shuttles starting two hours before kickoff.
  • Coralville. Drive to the Hancher or Hawkeye Commuter lot and take the free Cambus. Suburb across the Iowa River with hotels along I-80, Coral Ridge Mall and the Iowa River Landing.

Getting in from the airport

CID The Eastern Iowa Airport in southern Cedar Rapids, two miles west of I-380. It serves both Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, with five airlines flying nonstop to seventeen airports, including Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Charlotte, Dallas and Phoenix.

Fans tailgate in the UI lots around the stadium, including the Finkbine Golf Course, Lower Finkbine and Softball lots, and along Melrose Avenue. Stay inside your space: no tailgating in travel lanes. UI Athletics lots open six hours before kickoff at most, and never before 6 AM. Beer and wine are allowed in UI parking areas on game day. Hard liquor is not. Propane and charcoal grills and propane heaters are fine in lots but banned in ramps, one 20 lb cylinder per device. Tents stay in your space. Point speakers into your own party. Public RV parking is $100 on game day in the Finkbine Golf Course, Lower Finkbine and Softball lots. Public RV spots are game day only, with no overnight stays before or after. The Tigerhawk Beer Garden opens three to four hours before kickoff.

  • Bag policy: Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags up to 12 x 6 x 12 inches, a clutch up to 4.5 x 6.5 inches, or a one-gallon clear zip bag. Diaper bags and medical items are allowed. No backpacks, purses, cinch bags, coolers or umbrellas.
  • Re-entry: No re-entry, including through Krause Family Plaza and premium areas.
  • Cashless: All concessions and merchandise stands take only credit or debit cards.

Free Cambus shuttles run for about an hour after the game. For downtown or the Hancher lot, board at the VA Loop on Newton Road. For the Hawkeye Commuter lot, board near Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Don't bring hard liquor or plan to pay cash: UI lots allow beer and wine only, and parking, concessions and merchandise are all cashless.

    A 14-foot bronze of Iowa's 1939 Heisman winner stands outside the stadium that bears his name. Kinnick died a Navy pilot in 1943.
