The bars fans pick on game day, and how each one treats a visiting fan.
Mostly home fans.
This is the closest thing Denver has to a stadium-gate pub. It is a three-bar building, downstairs, upstairs, and a rooftop patio, right in the stadium's shadow. On a normal Tuesday, one bartender runs the place.
It opens early on gamedays and fills up starting about three hours before kickoff. The patio is first-come, first-served, and fills fast. It has a full food menu. Expect a line at the door within two hours of kickoff.
Mixed crowd. It's a neighborhood craft brewery, so away colors won't stand out.
This is the counterweight to Brooklyn's: a working Denver craft brewery, not a sports bar. It sits close enough to the stadium for a pregame stop, but calm enough to talk. Pick it if you want a real Colorado beer before kickoff instead of a wall of TVs.
Taproom hours run shorter than bar hours. It may not open as early as Brooklyn's on gameday, so confirm ahead. The kitchen is limited or closed. It has very few TVs. This is a before-the-game stop, not a watch-the-game spot.
Fly into DEN, Denver International. Take the RTD A Line straight to Denver Union Station, 37 minutes. COS sits about 70 miles south of Denver, with no good transit link. Only worth it if you're already visiting Colorado Springs.
Take RTD light rail C, E or W line to Empower Field at Mile High station from Denver Union Station and downtown. Buy a day pass in the RTD MyRide app, or tap your card on RTD's Tap-n-Ride readers. The C Line adds extra trains before and after games from the Littleton and Highlands Ranch direction. The station sits right next to the stadium. You walk straight from the platform in.. Get off at Decatur-Federal station on the W Line from Downtown Denver / west Denver. It's 0.3 miles from the stadium, about a seven-minute walk. Use it to skip the crowd at the stadium's own station after the game.. Take the RTD A Line, also called the University of Colorado A Line, about 37 minutes from Denver International Airport. It costs about $10 each way. Trains run every 15 minutes from 5am to 8pm, every 30 minutes outside that window. The A Line ends at Union Station. Transfer there to the E or W line for the stadium.. Walk from Denver Union Station, about 30 minutes from Union Station / LoDo. Free Take an RTD bus from Across Denver. Routes 30 and 31 on Federal Boulevard, plus 1, 15L and 16, stop at Decatur-Federal station, 0.3 miles from the stadium. RTD also lists routes 0, 9, 10, 15, 20 and 32 as game-day options..
No official shuttle time is posted. RTD runs its normal train schedule after games instead of a special shuttle. It adds extra rail cars to the E and W lines on Broncos game days to carry more people, not to run more often. RTD tells fans to expect crowds. If the line at Empower Field at Mile High station is long, walk 0.3 miles to Decatur-Federal on the W Line instead. Rideshare is slower here, since pickup is a 15-minute walk away at Ball Arena.
Drop-off and pickup are in different spots, the key fact to know here. Drop-off sits at the NE corner of the stadium near Gate 5 on Mile High Stadium Circle. Pickup sits at 5th and Walnut Street, the Ball Arena Rideshare Lot, about a 15-minute walk east of the stadium. After the game, that walk comes before you even get in the car, in Denver winter, at altitude, with 76,000 other fans.
Read this before you plan to leave by rideshare. Drop-off and pickup are not the same spot at Empower Field. You get dropped at the NE corner near Gate 5 on Mile High Stadium Circle. Pickup after the game is at the Ball Arena Rideshare Lot, 5th and Walnut Street, about a 15-minute walk east of the stadium. Fans who expect a pickup at the door end up walking in the cold anyway. Take the train instead.
Most lots open 4.5 hours before kickoff. Lot C opens 6 hours before kickoff for early tailgating. Know this one if your driver or group plans to tailgate. You need a vehicle to tailgate at Empower Field. Tailgating is part of the culture here, but only in your own parking space, by your own car. If you arrive by light rail, you have no lot to tailgate in. Tailgating is banned in the carpool section of Lot A. Tailgating is allowed elsewhere. Use parking spaces only for vehicles.
LoDo: Min by RTD E or W light rail from Union Station to Empower Field at Mile High station, or a 1. 5-mile walk. Pick a hotel near Union Station. Downtown Denver: Min by RTD light rail C, E or W to Empower Field at Mile High station. More hotels here than LoDo proper. Still on the light rail line.
There's no option to stay near the stadium. Sun Valley, the neighborhood around it, is parking lots, Interstate 25 and the South Platte River. No hotels, no bars. RTD and the stadium both plan on fans coming from downtown, not staying nearby.
No public tour runs on game days. The Colorado Sports Hall of Fame runs the stadium tour, not the Broncos, on scheduled non-event days. The operator notes some areas may be closed depending on stadium events.
Empower Field at Mile High Stadium Tour (Colorado Sports Hall of Fame). Tours run on non-event days. Check the FareHarbor booking calendar to see if a tour falls on the Saturday before your game. Tickets are mobile-only. Load them in the Denver Broncos app or the Broncos Account Manager, which runs on Ticketmaster. The barcode changes every 15 seconds, so screenshots won't work. If you can't install the app, use the Ticketmaster Account Manager website instead.
You can bring one small bag, no bigger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches, with or without a strap. Or one clear bag, no bigger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches. Diaper bags themselves aren't allowed, but diapers and wipes can go in an approved clear bag. Medically necessary items get checked at the gate. Call 720-258-3000 at least two business days ahead.
Leave these at home: outside alcohol (you'll be removed on the spot), stainless steel or glass bottles, cans, coolers, thermoses, large umbrellas (small folding ones are fine), noisemakers, camera lenses over 6 inches, camera or binocular cases, backpacks and non-compliant purses. You can bring an empty clear plastic bottle up to 1 liter, a portable phone charger, and a one-piece foam seat cushion under 18 inches wide with no cover, zipper or pocket.
No re-entry, no exceptions. the stadium guide states it in capital letters. If you leave, your ticket won't get you back in.
Payments are cashless only, stated flatly in the stadium guide. Reverse ATMs that turn cash into a card sit on Level 1 near sections 105, 114, 122 and 133. Apple Pay and chip or tap cards work at every stand, good to know if you're carrying a non-US card.
the stadium guide points fans to the stadium's food and beverage guide for gluten-friendly and vegan options. The Food & Beverage page lets you filter by vegan, vegetarian or gluten-friendly. No further allergen detail is posted online.
Call the Broncos ADA Hotline at 720-258-3337 or email [email protected] for accessible seating or other accommodations. No fixed notice period is listed, but contact them early. Accessible parking is first-come, first-served: $35 in Lot L or $40 in Lots D and G, with a valid state placard.
Every Guest Relations Center has free sensory bags to check out, with noise-cancelling headphones, fidget tools and communication cards. The stadium also has KultureCity Sensory Rooms. For ASL interpreting, call the ADA hotline and give four weeks' notice, longer than most stadiums. Plan this one ahead of your trip.
Four nursing rooms sit around the stadium, each locked by a code you get from Guest Relations. You can bring breast-pump supplies in. Family restrooms with baby-changing tables sit on the Lower, Club and Upper concourses, at sections 135, 122, 305, 324, 341, 508 and 534. For lost kids, register a wristband at any Guest Relations Center with your section, row and seat.
Free WiFi runs on the BroncosWiFi network. A Distributed Antenna System boosts cell service inside the bowl, covering Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T.
