Sat, Oct 31 to Mon, Nov 2, picked up and dropped at the airport.
Gates, bags, payment and access at Northwest Stadium.
The stadium does not publish a kickoff-relative arrival window. It only warns that everyone entering the stadium is subject to search by security staff at predetermined screening locations, which sometimes causes delays, and it tells guests who need accessible seating and parking to arrive early because both are limited. Gate opening times are not fixed. They vary and get posted on the event's page.
You get digital tickets through the Washington Commanders App, logging in with SeatGeek. Tap the TICKETS button, then swipe to see the QR code for each ticket, which gets scanned at the stadium entrance gates. Tickets download to the app automatically once they're released. The stadium does not say whether screenshots or printouts work, and it has no guidance published for international visitors.
You can bring one bag if it is clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and no bigger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, or a one-gallon clear freezer bag, plus a small clutch bag up to about 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. The stadium makes an exception for medically necessary items after they are inspected at a gate set up for that purpose. Diaper bags, camera bags, backpacks, fanny packs, and cinch bags are all banned.
You cannot bring umbrellas, strollers (unless you're a suite holder), outside food and drinks, coolers, folding chairs, cameras with detachable lenses 5 inches or longer, laptops, gaming consoles, LED lights, laser pointers, noisemakers, or self-defense spray. Smoking is banned in the seating bowl, main concourse, Legends Plaza, portals, tunnels, the Gate A ramp, and restrooms.
Re-entry is allowed only with a full, unused ticket for that day's game. In practice, once you have scanned in, you cannot leave and come back.
Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available at specific concourse locations. If you need a dietary exception to the outside food ban, you have to submit a form at least 48 hours in advance, which matters if you're traveling with allergies.
Step-free entry runs through public ramps next to Gates A, H, E, and D. Public elevators are only at Gate A and the Bank of America Gate, Gate E, so while ramps serve four gates, elevator access narrows down to two, which changes your route compared to general admission. Accessible parking is in Lots E and H, plus the Gray Lot with a shuttle.
You can buy accessible seats in advance online, or ask to be relocated when you arrive at a Guest Services booth in Sections 104, 124, 304, 324, 404, or 431, on a first-come basis. You can also email [email protected]. The stadium warns that accessible seating and parking are limited, so arrive early. There is no fixed window for how far ahead you need to request seating.
You can check out sensory kits at the Guest Services booths on the main concourse, first come first served. Closed captioning and assistive listening devices are available at the Gate A Guest Services booth on request, also first come first served and subject to availability. ASL interpreters need two weeks' notice by email to [email protected], a much longer lead time than Lambeau's 48 hours, so plan ahead if you need one. There is no dedicated sensory room, only the kits.
Nursing pods are on the Club Level Concourse, Level 3, next to each elevator tower, at Sections 303 and 324. Family restrooms with baby changing stations are at the elevator towers at Gate A and Gate E on every level. For a lost child, register at a Guest Services booth, where kids get a wristband showing their seat location. First aid stations are at Sections 103 and 125 on the Main level, 303 and 324 on the Club level, and 403 and 430 on the Upper level.
The stadium has free WiFi from Verizon Wireless. Just select the network named Northwest Stadium. There is no published guidance on DAS or cell service reliability when the stadium is full.
DCA, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, is 15 minutes from the Metro station inside the terminal to Metro Center on the Blue or Yellow Line. IAD is the long-haul airport. The Metro Silver Line runs from an indoor walkway at the main terminal to Metro Center in about 55 minutes, the same line that serves the stadium, so you never have to change systems. BWI sits 30 miles north in Maryland with no Metrorail. Take the free shuttle to BWI Rail Station, then MARC on weekdays or Amtrak daily to Union Station, then the Red Line. The whole trip runs 60 to 80 minutes and costs $10 to $37. It's often the cheapest fare, but the worst connection.
Take the WMATA Metrorail Blue or Silver Line to Morgan Boulevard from Downtown Washington. You pay the standard WMATA distance-based fare, roughly $2.25 to $6.75 depending on distance. There is no special event fare. It is a 1-mile walk, about 20 minutes, uphill in places, through residential streets and then into the parking lots. There is no shuttle.. Take the WMATA Metrorail Blue or Silver Line to Downtown Largo from Downtown Washington. You pay the standard WMATA distance-based fare. Plan on a long walk either way. WMATA says the walk between Northwest Stadium and the Morgan Boulevard and Downtown Largo stations can take more than 20 minutes, depending on crowds and other factors. After the game, Morgan Boulevard and Downtown Largo are the only two stations open for entry. Every other nearby station is exit only..
This is the known weak point. Two things stack up against you: a walk of 20 minutes or more that gets longer in a crowd, and only two Metro stations open for entry afterward, so everyone taking transit funnels into Morgan Boulevard and Downtown Largo. WMATA does hold trains for late finishes. For one Sunday night game, it published hard deadlines of 12:32 a.m. at Downtown Largo and 12:35 a.m. at Morgan Boulevard for the last Silver Line train. Drivers do not fare better either, since the roads onto the stadium grounds are windy and not really wide enough to handle that much traffic. Give yourself an hour from the final whistle to actually boarding a train.
The rideshare pickup and drop-off zone is in the Red Zone Lot, and the club says it is about a 5-minute walk from the stadium after you exit Gate A. For drop-off, set your destination to 8001 Sheriff Rd, Hyattsville MD 20785. Expect heavy surge pricing and a long line after the game. The walk to Metro is more predictable even though it takes longer.
The classic mistake is booking a hotel in Landover or on the Capital Beltway to be near the stadium. You save 30 minutes on game day and lose the whole trip, since there is nothing to walk to, and you will be taking the same Metro back into D.C. every evening anyway. Book your hotel in Washington.
All parking lots open 4 hours before kickoff, except RedZone A, which opens 5 hours before. For a 1 p.m. kickoff, the club says lots open at 9:00 a.m. Tailgating is not allowed in the H-Burgundy lot or in team and staff lots. All tailgating must end when the game starts, and lots close 2 hours after it ends. Put out your grill before heading into the stadium, since ash dumpsters are provided for that. There is no organized tailgate village at Northwest Stadium. Every tailgate is private and car-based, set up in a parking lot. But if you're on foot with a game ticket, you can still join one. Commanders guest services confirmed that fans with a valid ticket can walk into the lots and join tailgating without a vehicle or parking pass, and the written policy backs that up: every tailgating fan must have a valid ticket or parking pass. Anyone without an event ticket who stays in the lots after the game starts is treated as a trespasser. Tailgating is allowed in every lot except H-Burgundy and the team and staff lots. Keep your expectations in check: it's a 1-mile, 20-minute walk from Morgan Boulevard station into a field of strangers' tailgates, with no host and nothing for sale.
Capitol Hill: Min by Metro Blue or Silver Line to Morgan Boulevard, then a 1-mile / 20-minute walk. Stay in Washington and treat the stadium as a day trip. That is the settled answer for Landover. Downtown D.C.: Min by Metro Blue or Silver Line to Morgan Boulevard, then a 1-mile / 20-minute walk. You get the most hotels, a direct Blue/Silver Line ride to Morgan Boulevard with no transfer, and the shortest ride from DCA airport. If you want to sightsee around the game, stay here.
There is no walkable bar or restaurant cluster at Northwest Stadium. The area is described as dominated by office parks with limited options, plus a small strip mall at Landover Road and Brightseat Road, and Woodmore Town Center, which is a drive away and has Carolina Kitchen, Copper Canyon Grill, and Jasper's American Grill. None of it is walkable from the stadium. This is the detail that settles it: do not stay near the stadium, stay in Washington.
Washington is the destination, not the stadium. There are no public stadium tours to fill a day, so plan on spending any extra night in the city rather than at the club. Two nights would work, but three makes for a better trip.
Stay in the city and ride in for the game.

The bars fans pick on game day, and how each one treats a visiting fan.
The crowd is mixed and welcoming, a destination Irish pub with both tourists and locals.
Danny Coleman opened The Dubliner in 1974, carrying on a family trade that started when his father opened Coleman's Saloon in Syracuse in 1933. The third generation runs it now. It pours Auld Dubliner Amber Ale, brewed only for the house, keeps more than 100 Irish whiskeys behind the bar, and was the first pub in America to serve Kilkenny.
It takes reservations, which is rare and useful on a game day. It has a full Irish menu, and the Irish Reuben and the potato soup are the house orders. It has outdoor seating and is family friendly, and the hotel is attached. Call (202) 737-3773.
This is home to the Nova Vikes Minnesota Vikings fan club, so it's the natural base for visiting Vikings fans. Otherwise expect a mixed international soccer crowd.
Four Courts is the Arlington Irish pub built around international football. Men in Blazers named it America's Best Soccer Bar for 2025-2026. It hosts supporters' clubs including Beltway Blues (Chelsea), Arlington Gooners, Arlington Spurs, Crystal Palace DC, Bournemouth Supporters DC, Milan DC and Roma DC, plus the Nova Vikes Minnesota Vikings fan club and Penn State, Army and Notre Dame football supporters.
It's open about 9am to 2am Saturday and about 9am to 1am Sunday, opening earlier for soccer (check their socials for the first match time). Thursday and Friday it's open 11:30am to 2am, Monday 2pm to 1am, and Tuesday and Wednesday 2pm to 2am. On busy match days it runs one-in-one-out at the door. It has a patio, private rooms, and catering. Call (703) 525-3600.
