Sat, Oct 31 to Mon, Nov 2, picked up and dropped at the airport.
Gates, bags, payment and access at Northwest Stadium.
The venue sets no fixed arrival window before kickoff. It warns that everyone entering is subject to search by security staff at predetermined screening locations, which can cause delays. It tells guests needing accessible seating or parking to arrive early, since both are limited. Gate opening times vary and post on the event page.
Tickets go through the Washington Commanders App, logged in with SeatGeek. Tap TICKETS, then swipe to view the QR code for each ticket. Gate staff scan these at entrance. Tickets download to the app automatically when it opens.
You may carry one clear bag, plastic, vinyl, or PVC, no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Or a one-gallon clear freezer bag. Plus a small clutch up to 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. An exception applies for medically necessary items, after inspection at a designated gate. Diaper bags, camera bags, backpacks, fanny packs, and cinch bags are not allowed.
No umbrellas, strollers except for suite holders, outside food or drinks, coolers, folding chairs, cameras with detachable lenses 5 inches or longer, laptops, gaming consoles, LED lights, laser pointers, noisemakers, or self-defense spray. Smoking is banned in seating bowls, the main concourse, Legends Plaza, portals, tunnels, the Gate A Ramp, and restrooms.
Re-entry is allowed only with a full, unused ticket for that day's event. Once you scan in, you can't come back out and return.
Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available at specified concourse locations. Guests needing a dietary exception to the outside-food ban must submit a form at least 48 hours in advance.
Step-free entry runs through public ramps at Gates A, H, E, and D. Public elevators are only at Gate A and the Bank of America Gate, Gate E. Ramps cover four gates, but elevators cover only two. Accessible parking sits in Lots E and H, plus the Gray Lot with shuttle service.
Buy accessible seats in advance online, or ask for relocation on arrival at a Guest Services booth, Sections 104, 124, 304, 324, 404, or 431, on a first-come basis. Email [email protected]. Accessible seating and parking are limited, so arrive early. No fixed advance-notice window applies for seating.
Sensory kits check out at Guest Services booths on the main concourse, first-come first-served. Closed captioning and assistive listening devices are available at the Gate A Guest Service booth, also first-come first-served. ASL interpreters need two weeks notice, by email to [email protected]. No dedicated sensory room exists, only kits.
Nursing pods sit on the Club Level Concourse, Level 3, next to each elevator tower, at Sections 303 and 324. Family restrooms with baby-changing stations sit at the elevator towers at Gate A and Gate E, on all levels. Register a lost child at Guest Services booths. Children get a wristband showing their seat location. First aid stations sit at Sections 103 and 125 on the Main level, 303 and 324 on Club level, and 403 and 430 on Upper level.
Free stadium WiFi comes from Verizon Wireless. Select the network named Northwest Stadium.
DCA, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. 15 minutes via Metro Blue or Yellow Line from the station inside the terminal to Metro Center. IAD serves long-haul flights. The Metro Silver Line runs from an indoor walkway at the main terminal to Metro Center in about 55 minutes, the same line that serves the stadium. No system change needed. BWI sits 30 miles north in Maryland with no Metrorail. Take the free shuttle to BWI Rail Station, then MARC on weekdays or Amtrak daily to Union Station, then the Red Line. Total time runs 60 to 80 minutes, cost $10 to $37. Fares often run cheapest here, but the connection is the worst of the three.
WMATA Metrorail Blue and Silver Lines to Morgan Boulevard from Downtown Washington. Standard WMATA distance based fare, roughly $2.25 to $6.75 across the network. No special event fare. One mile, about 20 minutes. The walk goes uphill in spots, through residential streets, then into the parking lots. No shuttle runs.. WMATA Metrorail Blue and Silver Lines to Downtown Largo from Downtown Washington. Standard WMATA distance based fare. Plan for a long walk here too. WMATA says the walk between Northwest Stadium and the Morgan Boulevard and Downtown Largo stations can take more than 20 minutes, depending on crowds. After events, only Morgan Boulevard and Downtown Largo open for entry. Every other nearby station is exit only..
This is the weak point. A walk over 20 minutes gets longer under crowds, and only two stations open for entry after the game. The whole transit crowd funnels into Morgan Boulevard and Downtown Largo. WMATA holds trains for late finishes. For one Sunday night game, it set last Silver Line departures at 12:32 a.m. from Downtown Largo and 12:35 a.m. from Morgan Blvd. Driving is no better. The roads to the stadium are windy and not wide enough for that much traffic. Budget an hour from final whistle to boarding a train.
The rideshare pickup and drop-off zone sits in the Red Zone Lot, about a five minute walk from the stadium after you exit Gate A. For drop-off, use 8001 Sheriff Rd, Hyattsville MD 20785. Expect heavy surge pricing and a long line after the game. The Metro walk takes longer but runs more predictably.
Don't book a hotel in Landover or on the Capital Beltway to be near the stadium. You save 30 minutes on game day and lose the rest of the trip. There's nothing to walk to, and you'll ride the same Metro back into D.C. every evening anyway. Book in Washington instead.
Lots open four hours before kickoff, except RedZone A, which opens five hours before. For a 1 p.m. kickoff, lots open at 9:00 a.m. No tailgating in the H-Burgundy lot or team and staff lots. All tailgating ends at the start of the event. Lots close two hours after the event ends. Extinguish grills before entering the stadium. Ash dumpsters are provided. There's no organized tailgate village at Northwest Stadium, only private, car-based tailgates in the lots. A fan on foot with a game ticket can still join one. Pedestrians with a valid ticket can walk into the lots and join tailgating without a vehicle or parking pass. Anyone without a ticket who stays after the event starts is treated as a trespasser. Tailgating is allowed in all lots except H-Burgundy and team or staff lots. Expect a 1-mile, 20-minute walk from Morgan Boulevard station into a field of strangers' tailgates, with no host and nothing to buy.
Capitol Hill: Min by Metro Blue or Silver Line to Morgan Boulevard, then a 1-mile / 20-minute walk. Stay in Washington. Treat the stadium as a day trip. Downtown D.C.: Min by Metro Blue or Silver Line to Morgan Boulevard, then a 1-mile / 20-minute walk. Hotel options run deep here. You get direct Blue or Silver Line service to Morgan Boulevard with no change, and the shortest airport transfer from DCA.
There is no walkable bar or restaurant cluster at Northwest Stadium. The area is dominated by office parks with limited options. A small strip mall sits at Landover Road and Brightseat Road. Woodmore Town Center is a drive away, with Carolina Kitchen, Copper Canyon Grill, and Jasper's American Grill. Nothing is walkable from the stadium and back. This is why you stay in Washington, not near the stadium.
Stay three nights. Washington is the destination, not the stadium. No public stadium tours fill a day, so the extra night goes toward the city, not the team. Two nights works, but three makes the better trip.
Stay in the city and ride in for the game.
