The Cowboys are 1-2 after 3 games, 3rd in the NFC East.
They are 0-1 on the road.
The Colts are 1-2 after 3 games, 2nd in the AFC South.
They are 1-1 at home.
IND, Indianapolis International Airport. Take IndyGo Route 8, a non-express fixed-route bus, from the Transportation Center on Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2 to downtown. Or take a taxi or rideshare.
Indianapolis skywalk system plus the Convention Center walkway from JW Marriott. Free. The walkway comes out on the stadium's Event Level. You never go outside.. IndyGo Route 8 (airport service) from Indianapolis International Airport Ground Transportation Center. $6 day pass, valid on all IndyGo fixed routes. Downtown, then a short walk or skywalk to the stadium.
No official clearance time is published. Getting out is a walking problem, not a traffic problem. The stadium sits inside the downtown grid, connected to the Convention Center and surrounded by hotels. The crowd walks out into Georgia Street and the hotel district instead of waiting to exit a parking lot. The Colts' own advice covers arrival traffic, not getting out after the game.
There is one rideshare spot for pickup and drop-off: northbound Illinois Street, one block east of the stadium. The Colts say to use it for both pickup and drop-off. Most away fans on foot won't need it.
Skip the rental car. The Colts say to arrive downtown at least 3 hours before kickoff, due to road closures, construction, and heavy traffic. Downtown closures on a Colts Sunday slow drivers and favor walkers. Also skip booking near the airport to save money. You'd lose the skywalk, the Georgia Street pre-game, and the walk home, for a slow non-express bus instead.
Colts lots around the stadium open five hours before kickoff. Tailgating is allowed there, subject to each lot operator's rules. Stadium gates open two hours before kickoff. The Colts advise arriving downtown at least three hours before kickoff due to road closures and traffic. For a fan without a car, that three-hour mark matters most, since Touchdown Town opens then too. Lucas Oil isn't a tailgate stadium like you'd find in the Midwest. Don't plan a trip around tailgating here. The Colts leave tailgating rules up to each lot operator downtown, so there's no single policy, and you'd need a vehicle in a specific lot anyway. For fans on foot, Touchdown Town is the real option: a free pre-game fan zone outside the north gate, open three hours before kickoff. Georgia Street's bar corridor sits two blocks away. Whether Touchdown Town requires a game ticket isn't stated anywhere official.
Skywalk-connected downtown hotels: 12 min by enclosed skywalk to the Convention Center, then the pedestrian connector to the stadium. The most useful fact for an Indianapolis trip: 4,700 hotel rooms connect to the Indiana Convention Center by skywalk. The Convention Center connects to Lucas Oil Stadium by an enclosed walkway on the Event Level. South Street: 4 min on foot. Four hotels sit across the street from Lucas Oil, 0.1 to 0.3 miles away. They cost less than the convention hotels and are a two-minute walk, but are not on the skywalk.
Indianapolis is the most walkable NFL stadium city in this group, and the most overlooked. The stadium sits at 500 S. Capitol Avenue, inside the downtown grid, joined to the Convention Center. About 70,000 downtown parking spaces and thousands of skywalk-connected hotel rooms surround it. Walking in from a mile out or more is normal for this crowd. There is no real choice between staying downtown or near the stadium, they're the same place.
Tours don't run on event days. The stadium says tour routes and times can change based on the event schedule.
Lucas Oil Stadium Public Tour runs on Fridays, not Saturdays. Tours go at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., with extra days added sometimes, but never on event days or holidays. For a Sunday game, that means arriving Friday instead of Saturday, something most away fans won't expect. Tickets go on sale two weeks before each tour date through Ticketmaster or the box office, so you can't lock it in with flight bookings. Sell-out risk is moderate. Cost: $20 for adults, $15 for seniors 65+, children 4-12, and military, free for kids 3 and under with a paying adult. The tour runs about 60 minutes and covers the field, an NFL locker room, and the press box. Meet at the Southeast Entrance next to the box office, near Merrill St. and Capitol Ave.
Plan for a Friday if you want the stadium tour, since tours run Fridays only. For a Sunday game, that makes a three-night trip. Skipping the tour, two nights, Saturday to Monday, covers Georgia Street, St. Elmo's, and the game.
Supply is moderate for a normal Colts game. Indianapolis hosts many conventions and events, and the Convention Center and Lucas Oil run as one campus. A big convention, an NCAA event, or a race weekend on the same day as a home game will push up rates and fill the skywalk-connected hotels fast. Check the Indiana Convention Center calendar before booking. Skywalk hotels sell out before the rest.

Gates, bags, payment and access at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Use mobile ticketing through the official Colts app, which covers team info, tickets, and content. Ticketmaster is the Colts' ticketing platform. Fans without a smartphone can call the box office at (317) 262-3389 or (317) 297-7000. No guidance is published on screenshots, printouts, Apple or Google Wallet, or international visitors.
No section-to-gate map is published by the venue or the Colts. The official guide lists four public gates: Lucas Oil Gate (North), Huntington Bank Gate (West), Caesars Gate (South), and Verizon Gate (East). The stadium-maps page shows static level maps (Street, Loge, Terrace) with no gate lookup. Entry isn't zoned, so any fan can use any gate.
Bring one clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag no bigger than 12" x 6" x 12", or a one-gallon clear freezer bag. A small clutch or purse about hand-sized is also fine. Fanny packs are not allowed. Diaper bags get no exception, they must be clear too. Medical device bags are allowed but get screened.
No outside food or drinks. No liquor containers. No video cameras, depending on the event. No poles, sticks, or noisemakers. No selfie sticks. No blankets or seat cushions. No animals except service animals. No large bags.
If you leave the gated perimeter, you cannot re-enter during a Colts game. The boundary is the outer gate area, not the stadium doors. Other events at the stadium may allow re-entry at the promoter's discretion, but not NFL games.
Colts games run cashless. Two cash-to-card kiosks, at Sections 105 and 129, convert cash to a prepaid debit card for free. Accepted payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Menus list a dietary key: DF for dairy free, GF for gluten free, NF for nut free, SF for soy free, V for vegetarian. A separate 2026 Food & Drink Allergen Guide is also referenced. Allergen menus are at concession stands. No halal or kosher options are listed. This is unusually clear dietary labeling for an NFL stadium.
There's no separate ADA gate. All four public gates, Lucas Oil (North), Huntington Bank (West), Caesars (South), and Verizon (East), are wheelchair accessible with ramps, elevators, and escalators. Accessible entry works the same as general admission.
Request accessible or companion seating through Ticketmaster when you buy tickets, or call the Colts box office at (317) 297-7000. On game day, ask about ADA relocation at the interior ticket windows near Section 118. It's first-come, first-served. No advance notice is required for seating.
There's a Sensory Room near Section 132, Street Level, in the southwest corner. Guest Services at Section 121, Street Level, loans sensory bags with noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards, and weighted lap pads. ASL interpreters need two weeks' notice by email to Guest Services, longer than Lambeau's 48-hour window. Book this one early. Large-print menus are available on request.
Five nursing spots for 2026: four Mamava pods, at Street Level Sections 108/208 and 132, Terrace Level Sections 518/618, and a new Loge Level pod near Section 330, plus a Mother's Room on Loge Level near Sections 307/407. Family restrooms with changing stations sit on all three levels: 6 on Street, 4 on Loge, 3 on Terrace. Register lost-child wristbands at Guest Services. Free Colts activity books and crayons are also there.
Free WiFi, called ColtsWiFi, needs no password. For 2026 the stadium upgraded to WiFi 7, with faster speeds and wider coverage. No guidance is published on cell signal or DAS at full capacity.

The Slippery Noodle Inn has the best story in Indianapolis. The building went up in 1850 as the Tremont House roadhouse. It's traded continuously since, under names like Concordia House (the city's first German-American club), Germania House, Beck's Saloon, and Moore's Beer Tavern.
Full kitchen and bar. Live music most nights. Busy on Colts Sundays, so get there early for a table. No shuttle needed.
Mostly home fans.
The Hangar runs a ticketed Colts Game Day Tailgate and Watch Party on home Sundays. Doors open at 8:00am for an afternoon kickoff. You get food, drinks, games and raffles indoors.
Buy tickets on Eventbrite. It sells per game and sells out, so book ahead. Do not plan to walk up. Food, drink and shuttle included. Starts at 8am. This is a commercial event, not run by the NFL.
