What we know about Bank of America Stadium

Where visiting fans stay

From a specialist guide
  • Uptown Charlotte. 8 min by walk. This is one of the most walkable NFL stadiums. No reason to stay anywhere else. Residence Inn Charlotte Uptown is 0.2 mi from the stadium. Kimpton Tryon Park is 0.3 mi away. Home2 Suites is 0.4 mi away. Most major hotels in downtown Charlotte are within walking distance. Walk down Mint or Church Street before the game. That is where the street tailgate scene sets up.
  • South End. 20 min. LYNX Blue Line to Brooklyn Village Station then ~4 blocks on foot. This brewery and restaurant district sits just south of Uptown. It is the only real alternative worth booking. Ride the LYNX Blue Line two or three stops to Brooklyn Village Station. Walk about four blocks from there. Pick it over Uptown only if you want the bar scene over convenience. Uptown empties out some on non-event nights.

Around the stadium

From a specialist guide
Uptown Charlotte is a real city center, not a stadium plaza. The Dog House sports bar sits beside the stadium. Halcyon and Mimosa Grill are within the walk. Trade and Tryon, two blocks away, is the main restaurant crossroads. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is about five blocks off. Since the stadium sits inside the business district, an away fan can do the whole trip on foot, hotel, bars, game, and after.

Getting in from the airport

From a specialist guide
CLT, Charlotte Douglas International. Take the CATS Sprinter (Route 5) bus 27 minutes from the stadium transportation area outside Arrivals to the Charlotte Transportation Center in Uptown. Then it is a short walk.

Getting to the stadium

Checked at the source
On foot from any Uptown hotel, about 8 min. Not needed. The stadium sits in the business district. LYNX Blue Line to Brooklyn Village Station, formerly Stonewall Station to About four blocks to the stadium. CATS Sprinter Route 5, the airport link, about 27 min. Charlotte Transportation Center in Uptown. Walk from there to the stadium and most Uptown hotels.

Tailgating

Checked at the source
You can walk up with no car needed. The stadium sits in the city center, so the tailgate plays out on streets and in parks, not parking lots. Panthers Lair and Panthers in the Park are gone. The current pregame lineup is Bud Light Backyard, the Play60 Kids Combine, and the VIP Tailgate. A fan with no car can walk into all of it. Bud Light Backyard and the Play60 Kids Combine need no game ticket. The VIP Tailgate is a separate paid ticket. Bud Light Backyard, at Mint and Graham Street. Free, no game ticket required. Runs 12:30pm to 3:30pm. Play60 Kids Combine, at Romare Bearden Park. Free, no game ticket required. Runs 2:30pm to 4:00pm. Panthers VIP Tailgate (South Lawn), paid, separate purchase required.

Getting in

Checked at the source
  • Bag policy: Bring one clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag, no larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches. Or bring a purse, bag or clutch no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches. Non-transparent bags, including backpacks and larger purses, are refused. The clear-bag check happens at the security gates, before fans reach the ticket line lanes. That means you get turned back farther from the turnstile than at most stadiums. No medical, diaper, camera or breast-pump exception is named.
  • Re-entry: Re-entry is not allowed. The ticket terms state the ticket grants a one-time entry into the stadium, with no right of re-entry. This rule shows up only in the legal ticket terms, not in the fan guide or stadium policies page.
  • Prohibited items: Banned items: strollers, umbrellas, all non-transparent bags, outside alcohol, all balls, weapons, explosives and fireworks. Compact still cameras and binoculars are allowed. No lens-length limit is published, unlike the other four venues in this group.

Touring the stadium

Checked at the source
The Panthers run no public stadium tours right now, on game day or any other day. The official tours page carries only a waiting-list form. Do not promise a Bank of America Stadium tour in 2026 without checking again. Private and group tour requests go through the club's group-tours contact form.

After the final whistle

From a specialist guide
No official clearance time is published. Leaving on foot is simple. Walk back up Mint or Church Street into Uptown in under 10 minutes. You will be among bars right away. The club warns only of changes to traffic and parking near the stadium.

One thing to avoid

From a specialist guide
Skip hotels near Charlotte Douglas airport or in the Ballantyne and University City suburbs. You gain nothing by saving money there. Uptown hotels are the ones inside the walk. You would end up paying rideshare surge twice on game day. One more thing: older guides and maps still call the light-rail stop Stonewall Station. It was renamed Brooklyn Village Station in June 2022, and Stonewall Street became Brooklyn Village Avenue. Same platform.
