What we know about Caesars Superdome
Where visiting fans stay
Checked at the source- Central Business District. 8 min by walk. The best thing about this stadium is where it sits, right in the middle of downtown. Most of the major hotels between the French Quarter and the Superdome are a mile or less from the dome, and you can walk most of that distance without trouble. The Hyatt Regency is 0.3 miles away, basically attached to the building. Walk down Poydras or Girod Street and you're there. You're also a short walk from the restaurants in the Warehouse District and the 46 Rampart-Loyola streetcar, and this area is quieter at 2 a.m. than the Quarter.
- French Quarter. 25 min by walk. Here's a correction to something people assume: the French Quarter is not next to the Superdome. It's at least a mile away at its closest edge, and farther if you're deeper into the Quarter. That's still a fine 20 to 25 minute walk in New Orleans weather, and the Quarter is the better choice for a night out, but if you book a hotel on the far end of the Quarter expecting a five-minute walk to the stadium, you'll be off by four times that.
- Along the 46 Rampart-Loyola streetcar line. 10 min by streetcar. There's no line called "Loyola-UPT." RTA runs five streetcar lines: 12 St. Charles, 46 Rampart-Loyola, 47 Canal-Cemeteries, 48 Canal-City Park, and 49 Riverfront. The Loyola Avenue and Union Passenger Terminal leg is covered by the 46 Rampart-Loyola. The venue confirms a public transportation stop on Poydras Street, directly across from Gate A Ground Level. Treat this as your backup for wet weather or tired legs rather than your main plan, since the 46 has been suspended before during work on the Canal and Rampart tracks, so check that it's running before you count on it.

Checked at the sourceGetting in
Checked at the source- Bag policy: For Saints games, you can bring one clear plastic bag up to 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, a one-gallon clear freezer bag, or a small clutch bag up to 6.5 inches by 4.5 inches. Coolers, backpacks, and luggage are not allowed. For non-NFL events, the Superdome's own A-Z guide gives a different size: maximum bag size is 12 inches wide by 12 inches high by 6 inches deep, and it must be clear. So check which event you're going to.
- Re-entry: The Superdome has a stadium-wide no re-entry policy, confirmed by two official sources. If you leave the stadium perimeter, you won't be let back in. If you have to leave and come back, ask for an Experience Ambassador.
- Prohibited items: You can't bring in outside food or drink, backpacks, large banners, sticks, bats, poles, selfie sticks, video cameras (hand-held still cameras are fine as long as the lens is 6 inches or less), laser pointers, noisemakers, whistles, glitter, helium balloons, vapes, or laptops. That last one catches a lot of business travelers coming straight from a meeting.

Checked at the sourceThe Rusty Nail
1100 Constance Street, New Orleans, LA 70130 (Warehouse District)
The Rusty Nail is the one bar in this area with a real, documented Saints tradition. Every Sunday during football season, it runs $13 domestic buckets and donates $1 from each bucket to Team Gleason, the nonprofit founded by former Saints safety Steve Gleason, whose blocked punt against Atlanta during the Superdome's 2006 reopening is the biggest play in franchise history.
Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux
1009 Poydras Street, New Orleans, LA 70112
Walk-On's was started by two former LSU basketball walk-ons, which is where the name comes from, and it grew out of Baton Rouge into Louisiana's biggest sports bar brand. Drew Brees, the Saints quarterback who won Super Bowl XLIV, became a co-owner, so the New Orleans location feels like a Saints room instead of just another chain.
Manning's Sports Bar & Grill
519 Fulton Street, New Orleans, LA 70130 (at Caesars New Orleans)
Manning's is the Saints' family shrine, built around Archie Manning, the quarterback who carried the franchise through its worst years, and filled with memorabilia from his own collection along with mementos from his sons Peyton and Eli. The room has more than 30 flat screens, two 13-foot mega screens, a sports anchor desk, and an End Zone section where you watch the game from an actual recliner.
