What we know about Bank of America Stadium

Where visiting fans stay

From a specialist guide
  • Uptown Charlotte. 8 min by walk. This is one of the most walkable stadium setups in the NFL, and there's no reason to stay anywhere else. Residence Inn Charlotte Uptown is 0.2 miles from the stadium, Kimpton Tryon Park is 0.3 miles, and Home2 Suites is 0.4 miles. Most of the major hotels in downtown Charlotte are within reasonable walking distance. Walk down Mint or Church Street before the game, that's where the street tailgate scene sets up.
  • South End. 20 min. LYNX Blue Line to Brooklyn Village Station then ~4 blocks on foot. This is the brewery and restaurant district just south of Uptown, and the only real alternative worth booking. It sits on the LYNX Blue Line, so you ride two or three stops to Brooklyn Village Station and walk about four blocks. Pick it over Uptown only if you want the bar scene more than the convenience, since Uptown empties out some on non-event nights.

Around the stadium

From a specialist guide
Uptown Charlotte, yes, and it's a real city center, not just a stadium plaza. The Dog House sports bar sits beside the stadium. Halcyon and Mimosa Grill are within the walk. The Trade and Tryon intersection two blocks away is the main restaurant crossroads, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame is about five blocks off. Because the stadium sits inside the business district, an away fan can do the whole trip, hotel, bars, game, and after-party, on foot.

Getting in from the airport

From a specialist guide
CLT Charlotte Douglas International. It takes 27 minutes on the CATS Sprinter (Route 5) bus from the stadium transportation area outside arrivals to the Charlotte Transportation Center in Uptown, then a short walk.

Getting to the stadium

Checked at the source
On foot from any Uptown hotel, about 8 min. Not needed, the stadium is in the business district. Take the LYNX Blue Line to Brooklyn Village Station (formerly Stonewall Station) to About four blocks to the stadium. CATS Sprinter Route 5 (airport link), about 27 min. Charlotte Transportation Center in Uptown. It's walkable to the stadium and to most Uptown hotels.

Tailgating

Checked at the source
You can walk up to all of it. Because the stadium sits in the city center, the tailgate scene plays out on the streets and in the parks rather than in a parking lot. Panthers Lair and Panthers in the Park are gone, the current lineup is Bud Light Backyard, the Play60 Kids Combine, and the VIP Tailgate. A fan without a car can walk into all of it. Bud Light Backyard and the Play60 Kids Combine need no game ticket, while the VIP Tailgate is a separate paid ticket. Bud Light Backyard, at Mint and Graham Street, free, no game ticket needed, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Play60 Kids Combine, at Romare Bearden Park, free, no game ticket needed, 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Panthers VIP Tailgate (South Lawn), paid, separate purchase required.

Getting in

Checked at the source
  • Bag policy: You can bring one clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag no bigger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches, or a purse, bag or clutch no bigger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches. Bags that aren't see-through, including backpacks and larger purses, are turned away. The clear-bag check happens at the security gates before you even reach the ticket line, so you'll get turned back further from the turnstile than at most stadiums. No exception is listed for medical bags, diaper bags, cameras or breast pumps.
  • Re-entry: Re-entry is not allowed. The Panthers' ticket terms say your ticket grants a one-time entry into the stadium with no right of re-entry. This rule only shows up in the legal ticket terms, not on the fan-facing stadium policy pages, but it still applies.
  • Prohibited items: You can't bring strollers, umbrellas, non-transparent bags, outside alcohol, balls of any kind, or weapons, explosives and fireworks. Compact still cameras and binoculars are allowed. No lens length limit is published, which is different from the other four venues in this group.

Touring the stadium

Checked at the source
The Panthers aren't running public stadium tours right now, not on game day and not on any other day. The official tours page only has a waiting list form. Don't sell or promise a Bank of America Stadium tour in 2026 without checking again first. Private and group tour requests go through the club's group-tours contact form instead.

After the final whistle

From a specialist guide
No official clearance time is published for leaving the stadium. For an away fan, leaving on foot is easy, you walk back up Mint or Church Street into Uptown in under 10 minutes and you're in among the bars right away. The club only warns that there will be changes to traffic and parking patterns in and around the stadium.

One thing to avoid

From a specialist guide
Don't book near Charlotte Douglas airport or out in the Ballantyne or University City suburbs to save money. You won't gain anything, since the Uptown hotels are the ones inside the walk, and you'd end up paying rideshare surge twice on game day. Also, navigation apps and older guides still call the nearest light rail stop Stonewall Station. It was renamed Brooklyn Village Station in June 2022, and Stonewall Street became Brooklyn Village Avenue, same platform.

Bars near the stadium

From a specialist guide
  • Clutch Kitchen & Pour House / Overtime

601 South Cedar Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

In the Third Ward, Clutch runs as a day club rather than a regular bar. It has a DJ, loud music, outdoor space, and a crowd that shows up hours early and treats the pregame as the main event.

  • Ten58 Sports Bar & Lounge

430 West 4th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202 (Uptown)

Ten58 is owned by Thomas Davis, the former Carolina Panthers linebacker who played thirteen seasons in Carolina, and the name comes from his playing number. That ownership is the whole draw: it's the only bar in Charlotte with a direct line back into the locker room, which gives a visiting fan a story instead of just a screen.

  • Graham St. Pub & Patio

400 South Graham Street, Charlotte, NC 28202 (Third Ward)

Graham St. Pub is the patio option in the Third Ward cluster, the outdoor pick for a warm September or October afternoon when Charlotte gameday weather is at its best.

The local food this city is known for: carolina barbecue.

Inside the stadium, 2026 season

  • In 2025: the Masked Bandit brisket sandwich (Sections 116, 314, 346 and 521) and a BBQ platter on the 300 level. The 2026 line-up was not found. Reported, not confirmed by the stadium. Source
