  • Trolley hotels along I-30 and near Six FlagsVisiting fans pick this

15 min by transit. About 28 hotels, including the Sheraton Arlington, Hilton Arlington and Hyatt Place Arlington, take part in the Arlington Trolley. Ask the front desk for a trolley pass, and you can ride to the game and back without moving your car.

Around the stadium

Checked at the source
The Arlington Entertainment District packs everything into a few blocks. Texas Live! (1650 E Randol Mill Rd) sits across Randol Mill Road from the ballpark, and the Loews Arlington Hotel (888 Nolan Ryan Expressway) and Live! by Loews (1600 E Randol Mill Rd) stand between Globe Life Field and AT&T Stadium.

Getting to Globe Life Field

From Dallas/Fort Worth

From a specialist guide
DFW (Dallas Fort Worth International) is about 11 miles away, roughly 17 to 20 minutes by car without traffic. No train runs to the ballpark, so plan on a rental car or a rideshare.

On game day

Checked at the source
Drive and park in a Rangers lot, about 25 min. Rangers lots around the ballpark. Sienna Lot M and Highlander Lot N cost $25, Camry Lot D costs $30 prepaid or $35 on the day, and Grand Highlander Lot V costs $50. Each lot has its own address on the Rangers parking page. Rideshare or taxi, about 20 min. The rideshare zone on the Chatman Cutoff, south of Randol Mill Road and Stadium Drive, on the east side of the ballpark. Arlington Trolley from a district hotel, about 15 min. Northbound lanes of Nolan Ryan Expressway, between Randol Mill Road and Road to Six Flags. Service starts 2.5 hours before the game and ends 30 minutes after. TRE train to CentrePort, then Arlington On-Demand, about 60 min. An On-Demand van picks you up at CentrePort/DFW Airport Station and drops you near the ballpark. Vans run Monday to Friday 6am to 9pm and Saturday 9am to 9pm, with no Sunday service, so this works for getting there but rarely for getting home.

Parking and tailgating at Globe Life Field

Tailgating

Checked at the source
You can tailgate in most Rangers lots, but not in Lots A, B or T. Set up tents, grills, tables and chairs only on the grass around the lots, never in parking spaces. Tailgating runs from when lots open until the end of the 2nd inning, and for up to 1 hour after the final out. Charcoal and gas cooking is allowed. Open fires, deep fryers, loud speakers, saving spaces, selling anything and private porta-potties are not. Dump coals only in the coal bins in the lots.

Getting in

Checked at the source
  • Bag policy: Up to two soft-sided bags per person, each no larger than 16 x 8 x 16 inches. All backpacks are banned, including clear and kids' backpacks. Single-compartment drawstring bags, diaper bags and medical bags that meet the size limit are allowed. Every bag is searched.
  • Cashless: The ballpark and all lots are cashless. Reverse ATMs that turn cash into a card are on the Main Concourse at Sections 113, 123 and 136 and the Upper Concourse at Section 227.
  • Re-entry: You can leave and come back through any entry until first pitch. After that, re-entry works only at one door at the TXU North Entry and one at the SeatGeek Southeast Entry, and you must scan out first. The ballpark is smoke free, including vapes.

Touring the stadium

From a specialist guide
About 60 minutes with a guide, no field access and no Rangers clubhouse. Youth tickets cost $15. Tours start inside the TXU Energy North Entrance. Book on the Rangers tours page or call 817-533-1833. Tickets are non-refundable, and parking in Lot B is free with a tour ticket on days without an event. About 90 minutes, including 30 minutes on the outfield. Adults $35, youth $25. Bring one ball and glove per person if you want to play catch. Bats are not allowed. Price varies by game, and you also need a ticket for that day's game. Before a 1:35pm game the tour is shorter and does not include batting practice. Pregame tour parking costs extra.

After the final whistle

From a specialist guide
Lots have a strict no in and out rule, and most fans leave by car at once, so the roads around Randol Mill Road, Stadium Drive and Nolan Ryan Expressway back up. You can tailgate in the grass areas for up to one hour after the final out, or walk across the street to Texas Live!, which stays open until midnight Sunday to Thursday and 2am on Friday and Saturday, and let the traffic clear.

One thing to avoid

From a specialist guide
Counting on transit to get home. No train serves the ballpark, the city's On-Demand vans stop at 9pm and skip Sundays, and pedicabs no longer run. Drive and prepay a lot, stay in the district, or plan for a rideshare.

Seats and shade at Globe Life Field

Where the sun lands on a day game, and which seats stay dry when it rains.

Shade and cover

Checked at the source
  • Every section. With the roof closed, every seat is covered and the ballpark stays in the mid-70s. This is the normal setup for hot summer games.
  • Every section. The roof usually stays closed when the game-time temperature is expected to fall below 65 or rise above 80 degrees, or when humidity is expected above 50 percent. So open-roof games are most likely on mild spring and early fall evenings, and summer games are almost always indoors.
