5 min. Walk. The best carless base of any stadium in this group. Hotels sit 0.2 to 0.3 miles from the gates (Silver Cloud Hotel, Embassy Suites Pioneer Square, Courtyard Seattle Downtown), sports bars and brewpubs line First Avenue South, and Pioneer Square has its own Link light rail station. You walk to the game and you walk home, with no transit leg at all on game day.
International District / ChinatownVisiting fans pick this
8 min. Walk. The ID/Chinatown Link station is about a quarter mile from Lumen Field's north side and is often less crowded than the Stadium station on game day. It also has a deep, cheap and excellent restaurant scene for the night before, which beats Pioneer Square's bar-heavy offering.

Downtown Seattle / Belltown
Link light rail 1 or 2 Line to Stadium or International District/Chinatown. This area has the largest hotel inventory and is the fallback if Pioneer Square is full or you want a quieter street at night. It's two Link stops from the stadium, or a 20 to 25 minute walk downhill.
Around the stadium
From a specialist guide
Pioneer Square and SoDo give you a rare case in the NFL where near the stadium and in the city are the same place. Three named hotels sit within 0.2 to 0.3 miles, sports bars are concentrated on First Avenue South, food trucks and street vendors set up around the stadium on game day, and T-Mobile Park, home of the Mariners, sits directly across the street with its own party patio as another pre-game spot.

Getting to Lumen Field
From Seattle-Tacoma
Checked at the source
From SEA, Seattle-Tacoma International, it's 38 minutes by Link light rail 1 Line direct from the airport station to downtown Seattle at Westlake. Stadium and International District/Chinatown stations come a few stops before Westlake.
On game day
Checked at the source
Link light rail, 1 Line and 2 Line. Stadium station is right next to the stadium. International District/Chinatown is about a quarter mile from the north side. Sounder Game Trains. King Street Station is about a football field away from the stadium. Washington State Ferries from Colman Dock, Pier 52. Colman Dock is less than a mile from the stadium, just a few blocks away. Seattle Streetcar and King County Metro. The streetcar stop is at S Jackson St and Occidental, 0.3 miles from the stadium. More than 15 daily bus routes stop within 3 blocks.
Parking and tailgating at Lumen Field
Tailgating
Checked at the source
Lumen Field bans tailgating outright in its own lots, so do not plan on a tailgate here. The upside is that the Pioneer Square bar district is a five-minute walk away and works as your pre-game spot, which suits a carless away fan better than a parking lot would anyway.

Getting in
Checked at the source
Bag policy: You can bring clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no bigger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, one-gallon clear freezer bags, and clear backpacks within those dimensions with no more than 2 pockets. Small bags up to 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches are allowed with or without a handle or strap. Soft-sided seat cushions are permitted, as long as they have no pockets, zippered compartments, metal frames or extra straps. Medically necessary items, including diaper bags, are allowed after inspection, but only at the Cascade VIP Gate, Olympic VIP Gate, Rainier VIP Gate, Club Entrance at Garage Level 5, and Suite Entrance at Garage Level 6, so an international fan carrying a diaper bag needs to go to one of those specific gates, not the nearest one.
Re-entry: Re-entry is permitted, but only before kickoff. The team's policy states, "due to security concerns and direction from NFL Security, re-entry is only permitted up until kickoff time," and after kickoff there's no re-entry. This is more permissive than most NFL venues.
Prohibited items: You can't bring in outside sodas, specialty coffees or sports drinks, though factory-sealed water and soft-sided juice boxes are allowed. Non-collapsible umbrellas are banned, but collapsible ones are fine. Banners, signs and flags on poles or sticks aren't allowed, and neither are professional cameras with lenses 200mm or longer, or tripods. Power banks are allowed for charging your phone only, not for powering anything else. Megaphones, air horns, sirens, horns, whistles, drums and cow bells are all banned.
Touring the stadium
Checked at the source
Public tours are scheduled around stadium events, so a Seahawks home date won't have a public tour running. Available dates are released monthly on Ticketmaster and sell only online, so the box office doesn't sell tour tickets. The Lumen Field Public Tour runs on non-event days only, and dates are released monthly, so a Saturday-before-a-Sunday-game tour is possible but not guaranteed, you need to check per game. Tickets can only be bought online at Ticketmaster.com and are not sold at the Lumen Field Box Office. Prices are $50 for adults 12 and up, $45 for juniors age 3 to 11, $45 for seniors 62 and up and military, and free for children 2 and under. Arrive 30 minutes early for security screening, and plan for about a mile of walking inside and outside during the tour.
After the final whistle
From a specialist guide
No official time is published for how long it takes to get out, and if you're staying in Pioneer Square it barely matters, since you walk out and you're in the bars within 10 minutes. The tightest spot is the Stadium Link station, since it's the closest and therefore the most crowded, so walking the extra quarter mile to International District/Chinatown usually beats standing in line. Sounder game trains run only for most games, not all.
One thing to avoid
From a specialist guide
Don't hire a car. Lumen Field bans tailgating in its own lots, the garage runs on a fixed 6am-to-two-hours-after-event window, and everything useful is within walking distance of a train. Also, the Stadium Link station is the obvious choice but is the most crowded, while International District/Chinatown is a quarter mile away and usually clears faster after the game.

Good Bar
Pioneer Square, Seattle, WA (street number unconfirmed)
It sits in a former bank building with the original vault door still in place, which is the most specific detail you'll find for any Seattle venue. Instead of pitchers and wings, you get craft cocktails and mezze: pita wraps, grilled halloumi, and a full drinks list.
Away fans: it's a mixed crowd, a cocktail bar that happens to sit near the stadium rather than a stadium bar itself.

Taylor Shellfish
Occidental Avenue, Pioneer Square, Seattle, WA (street number unconfirmed)
This is the regional pick and a Seattle thing to do before a game: a throwback oyster room on Occidental run by a Puget Sound shellfish grower. Order the freshly shucked oysters, along with geoduck chowder, smoked oyster dip, and fish and fries.
Hatback Bar & Grille, Google Maps
Hatback Bar and Grille / Steelheads Alley
SoDo, Seattle, WA - the former Pyramid Brewing building, facing T-Mobile Park
This is a restaurant, taproom, and beer garden complex set in the old Pyramid Brewing building, with Metier Brewing beer made on site. Metier is a Black-owned Washington brewery, and the venue names its spaces after Negro Leagues baseball history, including 'Steelheads Alley.' Order the smoked oyster dip and the IPA-battered onion rings.
Away fans: it's a mixed crowd, mainly a baseball room that turns into overflow space on NFL Sundays.
