What we know about American Family Field

Where visiting fans stay

Checked at the source
  • Downtown Westown. 15 min by rideshare. The most hotel rooms and bars in town. Who's on Third on N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive runs a free shuttle to every home game with any purchase.
  • Historic Third Ward. 15 min by rideshare. Walkable warehouse district with restaurants and the Milwaukee Public Market. Good base for a free day between games.
  • Avenues West. 10 min by transit. Closer to the ballpark than the core of downtown and on the CONNECT 1 bus line. The Ambassador Hotel on W. Wisconsin Avenue is on Visit Milwaukee's list of game shuttle stops.
  • West Milwaukee and Story Hill. 5 min by rideshare. The only lodging close to the ballpark. Best Western Plus Milwaukee West on W. National Avenue is on Visit Milwaukee's shuttle list, and the Bluemound bars are nearby.

Around the stadium

Checked at the source
The closest bar cluster is on W. Bluemound Road about a mile north of the ballpark, where Kelly's Bleachers and J&B's Blue Ribbon sit side by side and run game-day shuttles. There is almost no hotel stock next to the ballpark, so most fans sleep downtown and ride a shuttle, bus or rideshare.

Getting in from the airport

From a specialist guide
MKE (Milwaukee Mitchell International). It sits about 10 miles southeast of the ballpark, roughly 15 to 20 minutes by car on I-94 without game traffic.

Getting to the stadium

Checked at the source
Drive and park on site, about 15 min. Ballpark lots off I-94 at Brewers Boulevard. MCTS CONNECT 1 bus rapid transit, about 35 min. Wisconsin Avenue and 44th Street, then walk south to the ballpark. MCTS Route 18, about 35 min. National Avenue and 43rd Street, then walk to the ballpark. Who's on Third courtesy shuttle, about 20 min to Along the third base line near the gates.

Tailgating

Checked at the source
Tailgate in any lot except employee lots and the Rideshare Lot. Only ticketholders may be in the lots. Your vehicle must sit in a purchased space, one vehicle per space. Only state-approved gas or propane units with fuel shutoff valves and self-contained charcoal units are allowed. No open flames or wood fires. Dump charcoal in the coal bins at the base of the lot light poles. Tailgating must stop 30 minutes after the game starts. Everyone must then go into the ballpark or leave the grounds. You cannot buy an extra space for tailgating or hold spaces for friends. Arrive together to park side by side. No in and out parking: leaving means paying again. Custom tailgate grids go through Brewers Group Sales at 414-902-4777. For the 2026 NLCS, lots open 3.5 hours before first pitch and there is no early entry. Buy parking ahead of time, since the Brewers warn day-of parking is limited.

Getting in

Checked at the source
  • Bag policy: Clear single-compartment bags up to 12 x 12 x 6 inches, non-clear bags up to 9 x 5 x 2 inches, or a one-gallon clear resealable bag. No backpacks of any size and no multi-compartment bags. Diaper bags up to 16 x 16 x 8 inches and medical bags are allowed. The Brewers do not check bags.
  • Cashless: All concessions, retail stores and kiosks are cashless. Bring a credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or a Brewers gift card.
  • Re-entry: No re-entry on the same ticket. Express lanes at every gate serve fans with no bag or a bag 9 x 5 x 2 inches or smaller.

Touring the stadium

Checked at the source
Adults $16, seniors 60 and older, military and kids 3 to 12 $11, under 3 free. Book at brewers.com or call 414-902-4000. Meet at the Tour and Information desk inside the left field gate 10 minutes early. Tour parking is free in the Brewers 2 lot. There are no public tours in October. About 75 to 90 minutes with a 20-person minimum. Email [email protected] or call 414-902-4635. The visitors' clubhouse is off the route on game days and the day before a home series. Free with a game ticket. A multimedia show in the left field corner of the Loge Level about how big league baseball came back to Milwaukee. $150 per person Monday to Thursday and $175 Friday to Sunday, groups of 2 to 8, age 8 and up. Not offered in the postseason. Email [email protected].

After the final whistle

Checked at the source
All lots close within one hour after the game, and every car must be out by then. During the I-94 East-West rebuild, use the WisDOT route planner (94eastwest.wisconsindot.gov/amfamfield) to pick the best exit from your lot. To skip the traffic, ride a bar shuttle: Saz's starts return runs at the top of the 6th inning and Who's on Third at the 7th.

One thing to avoid

From a specialist guide
Showing up to a playoff game without parking or with a ticket screenshot. The Brewers sell postseason parking in advance in the MLB Ballpark app and say day-of parking is limited, and screenshots of tickets are turned away at the gates.
